The Post’s Mark Cannizzaro make his PGA Championship predictions:
Jordan Spieth: This will be proof that he’s truly totally back. It, too, represents the best story out here this week: Completion of the career Grand Slam, something only five players in history have accomplished.
Marc Leishman: The Aussie is not only major-championship battle-tested, but his ball flight is about as good as there is on Tour in the wind … and wind on the Ocean Course is always a factor.
Xander Schauffele:
It’s getting close to that time for him to break out and win a major. Schauffele has played in 15 majors, finished top 10 in eight and top 5 in six. He’s unafraid, and that’s one of the most crucial weapons a player can bring to a major.
Tony Finau: He’s more due than Schauffele, having amassed a mind-boggling 37 top-10 finishes (including 21 top 5s) since his lone PGA Tour win in 2016.
Rory McIlroy: The 2012 PGA winner on the Ocean Course who also happened to win two weeks ago has to be a part of this conversation.
