It’s Not Complicated For Donna Mooney

Posted on

Donna Mooney’s illustrious career stretches back to when she was 21 years old and worked in a department store. She saw an ad in the New York Times for modeling work through an agency and decided to give it a try. This was the start of amazing things for Donna, who is still modeling today. Donna says “I tried it out and loved it so kept doing it”. She has modeled for all the top designers including Perry Ellis and Liz Clairborne, as well as being the first fitting model for Betsy Johnson. For the past 12 years Donna has also been modeling nude for art students, as she is very good at holding poses for long periods of time. The nudity doesn’t bother her at all, as it’s for artistic purposes.

As well as modeling Donna is an accomplished actress. Her most recent work includes appearing on the Chris Rock Show and working on the last Law & Order to film in NY, where she was on the Supreme Court jury. She was a stand in for Meryl Streep in the movie It’s Complicated, and her other film credits include The New Guy, First we take Manhattan, One Fine Day and Short Cut. Donna has extensive background and stand-in experience and has worked on films with George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Alec Baldwin, Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins. She explains “Anthony came up to me out of the blue and started talking to me and he was a really nice guy.” All this allows her good access to the industry and the opportunity to attend many premiers of films, the most recent being for Night and Day.
