Kyler Murray on why he didn’t like the Cowboys: ‘They were always ass’

It appears Kyler Murray agrees with a good chunk of America about “America’s Team.”

The Cardinals star quarterback played football for Allen High School, a suburb of Dallas less than 30 miles away from the city. Having spent much of his life nearby, it led one reporter to recently wonder whether or not he was a Cowboys fan growing up.

His answer will likely please fans of other NFC East teams, if not NFL fans in general.

“F–k no,” Murray told reporters at a release event for his Sports Illustrated cover. “They were always ass.”

Instead, Murray rooted for the Vikings while growing up – though the reason for his allegiance is unclear.

Murray’s Cardinals played the Cowboys in 2020 on a Monday Night Football game and defeated Dallas emphatically, winning 38-10. Murray only completed nine passes during that game, though one of them was an 80-yard touchdown pass to Christian Kirk.
