The Essentials of Unwavering Faith

Faith to a Christian is the very foundation of our profession. Right off the bat, we’re reminded in the scriptures that no person can please God without exercising faith. It’s obvious that God is a spirit and we’re humans, therefore it takes faith, to approach the realm of the supernatural. Faith thrives by action. This action is based on the promises of God. Have you been in a situation whereby humanly speaking there’s no hope? Yet because of your faith in God’s promises, there’s a deep-seated assurance that things will turn out right. I’ve been there many times. It never seizes to amaze me how the Lord comes through for us at the very seeming last moment.

I say it all the time, your faith grows by the challenges you face. Forget about great faith, if you shy away and fuss about life’s challenges. This brings me to a recent occurrence in a nearby city by one of the pastor’s under my covering. At some point in November 2011 as the pastor related the story to me, one of his elders’ new Toyota sequoia was stolen. The incidence took place in the morning while the elder’s wife was warming up the car. She stepped back into her garage to grab something, when she came back out, in a flash the car was gone. They were frantic of this event, who wouldn’t be? The police were notified and the pastor was also informed. Unshaken by the incident the pastor invited the couple and laid hold on the scriptures in Isaiah 41:21, it reads, “Produce your cause, saith the Lord, bring forth your strong reason, saith the King of Jacob.”

He prayed a prayer of agreement with them and decreed that the car will be recovered within twenty-four hours. He didn’t waver in his faith but believed the case was settled. He called me back the first week of the new year 2012 to report that the car was recovered and returned to his saints. According to him, the car was safely parked away with no damage whatsoever and didn’t seem to have been driven since it was stolen. It’s a great miracle of protection and recovery. I’ve witnessed awesome miracles at home and especially abroad in crusades and conferences. Our faith is the catalyst in our walk with God. This article only briefly discusses the essentials of unwavering faith.

Seven Essentials of Unwavering Faith

1. Steadfastness

The grace to remain firm, calm and unshaken when the winds, waves and floods of life’s challenges are pressing upon us. Steadfastness is a prime-root to your faith. “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58)

2. Clarity

Most people play the church note because they really don’t have vivid understanding how powerful faith in Christ can be. In many instance the Lord Jesus had to open the understanding of his audience to give them a clear picture of his message. Once they had it, they were more resolved in following him despite the opposing elites. Your faith will be well anchored with divine illumination.

3. Empowerment

I look at this as the spirit of boldness which is enriched by laying claim of God’s promises. It’s a bold stand taken because God’s word says so, and we pay no mind to what others are saying. You’re saying, I’ve resolved to believe God’s word, that’s where I stand.

4. Persuasion

It was hard to turn Apostle Paul away from his mission and calling. A very essential element of unwavering faith. Apostle Paul declared, “For the which cause I also suffered these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day”(2 timothy 1:12,KJV). That’s it my friend, such faith produces a better type of personality.

5. Assurance

You gain this as the Lord allow divers situations to come to you. You start learning to trust him because you know that he brought you out before and will certainly do it again. It comes with divine comfort as your heart is rested on him.

6. Fearlessness

It overrides fear because faith and fear never exist together. Unwavering faith is a bitter opponent against fear. Fear not, stand up and fight the fight of faith. “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation” (Isaiah 12:2,KJV)

7. Foresight

Faith is the eye to the future. You’re balanced as your faith remains unshaken. You can see way out for solutions, through the window of faith. Powerful rendition of this is replayed in Hebrews; here its, “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.” (Hebrews 11:13,KJV).

These will work together to produce and unstoppable faith for the glory of Christ and blessing of others. Keep the faith.
